Donations of Turkish philanthropists reach in need in Ethiopia during Eid al-Adha

The Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) will carry out qurban sacrifices in 34 regions in Ethiopia, including the village of Negash.
Under the theme “Share Your Qurban, Get Closer to Your Brother,” TDV officials and volunteers have been gathering sacrificial animals nationwide with the support of philanthropists since last week. Animals meeting strict criteria have been identified and tagged for slaughter starting tomorrow at designated locations.
Ambassadorial Religious Services Counselor Yasar Cuhadar from the Addis Ababa Embassy, accompanied by Murat Alkan, Chief Inspector of the Directorate of Religious Affairs, and volunteers, inspected sacrificial animals in Wukro town, Mekele region.
TDV volunteers were warmly received in Negash village with a banner expressing gratitude. Following inspections of animals and slaughter areas, a collective prayer was conducted.
A total of 42,700 qurban shares will be distributed to needy Muslims.
