DEM Party members set to meet terrorist ringleader Abdullah Ocalan on Imrali Island

People’s Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) member Pervin Buldan and lawyer Faik Ozgur Erol are set to visit Imrali Island to meet with Abdullah Ocalan, the ringleader of the terrorist organization PKK.
This visit follows a process initiated by the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahceli, during which a DEM Party delegation had previously met with Ocalan.
During that meeting, Ocalan made a call for the PKK to lay down its arms. The delegation had also visited political parties at the time.
After a meeting with President Erdogan, Buldan announced that the new peace process would advance more quickly, and they would soon return to Imrali.
During their most recent visit, Ocalan met with Faik Ozgur Erol, his lawyer, for the first time in six years.
The DEM Party confirmed that today’s visit will take place as scheduled, with the delegation now en route to Imrali. Buldan and Erol will be part of the delegation.
