Türkiye’s 8×8 military vehicle platform, developed by the Turkish defense industry, has made its international debut at Eurosatory 2024, Europe’s largest and the world’s leading defense industry exhibition, held biennially.

BMC, one of Türkiye’s top commercial and military vehicle manufacturers, is showcasing its military vehicles at the event from June 17-21. As the land vehicle export champion of the Turkish defense industry, BMC introduced several advanced vehicles, including the KIRPI II, ALTUG 8×8, AMAZON 4×4, and the new 8×8 military vehicle platform.

BMC POWER, the power group development arm of BMC, is also present at the exhibition, featuring the TUNA 400-horsepower engine, the LEVEND 600-horsepower marine engine, and the UTKU 1,000-horsepower engine, all developed by Turkish engineers.

Notably, the 8×8 military vehicle platform, integral to the ARPAN-155 howitzer system, is being showcased abroad for the first time. This platform boasts high ballistic protection, powerful traction with a 675-horsepower engine, and speeds up to 80 kilometers/hour.

It features hydraulically controlled rear spurs and front legs, manual or automatic loading capabilities and impressive weapon mobility on various terrains.

Reflecting its modular design capabilities, BMC aims to produce vehicles for newly developed weapon and missile systems within the Turkish defense industry.

Roketsan, another leading Turkish weapons manufacturer, is also exhibiting at Eurosatory 2024, showcasing a range of advanced products including the Smart Micro Munition family, precision-guided systems, anti-tank systems, and air defense missile systems.

Roketsan General Manager Murat Ikinci emphasized their competitive edge and increasing export figures, highlighting the importance of the exhibition for fostering new collaborations and promoting their NATO-standard products.

“Eurosatory 2024 offers us the opportunity to promote our products more, especially to European countries. In this sense, we believe that we will return with new collaborations from the exhibition attended by decision-makers from many geographies of the world, notably European countries,” Ikinci said.
