Ilbak Holding executives detained in investigation into Imamoglu

Turkish police launched a large-scale operation against Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu and his close circle. Detention orders were issued for Imamoglu and 99 others on Wednesday.

As part of the probe, detention warrants were reportedly issued for Ilbak Holding Chairman Murat Ilbak, as well as Mustafa Ilbak, Yusuf Ilbak and Ali Ilbak from the Ilbak family.

Police also searched Imamoglu’s residence, detaining Imamoglu’s advisor Murat Ongun, campaign director Necati Sahin, and Deputy Secretary-General Mahir Polat.

Additionally, in a separate “urban reconciliation” probe, Imamoglu and seven others were detained on charges of “aiding the PKK/KCK terrorist organization.”
