Born in 1988, Ekici had faced significant challenges in recent years. In late 2020, she endured the loss of her mother, followed by the devastating news in 2021 that her only daughter, E., had been diagnosed with cancer. After two years of treatment, E. recently returned home, providing a glimmer of hope in a difficult period for the family.

Zahide met her husband, Yalcin Ekici, while studying mechanical engineering at Balikesir University. The couple married after completing their studies, and Yalcin also had a brief tenure at TAI before transitioning to work in a private company.
