Canik and Samsun Yurt Savunma (SYS) group companies will participate in the Eurosatory defense industry fair in Paris that will take place from June 17-21.

SYS was established in 1998 as part of the Eastern Black Sea Weapons Project in Samsun. The company operates in the Samsun Organized Industrial Zone.

On the other hand, Canik is a firearms manufacturer operating under SYS. Canik firearms are used by law enforcement, civilians and competitive shooters in 69 countries. The company is well-known for its polymer-framed TP9 (Tactical Pistol 9 mm) series of pistols.

According to a statement from the company, Eurosatory, one of the three largest defense industry fairs in the world, will showcase the latest innovations, products and technologies in the sector, bringing together manufacturers, startups, industry professionals and government officials.

At the fair, held from June 17-21 in Paris, Canik will present all three variations of its 12.7×99 mm heavy machine gun family: Canik M2 QCB, Canik M2F, and Canik M3, to defense and security professionals.

Additionally, the three variations of the 12.7×99 mm heavy machine gun family, Canik M2 QCB, Canik M2F and Canik M3, produced by Canik and its group companies, will be showcased as powerful options for various needs of defense and security professionals.

Another group company, Unirobotics, will showcase its domestically developed Remote Controlled Weapon System (RCWS) family, the Trakon series, including Trakon, Trakon Lite, and Trakon Targon, as a testament to technological prowess and the progress of the local defense industry. The Trakon series RCWSs are favored by foreign delegations for their technological and security standards.

The low-recoil 30×113 mm medium-caliber gun concept, previously introduced in Istanbul and London, is expected to be a highlight at the fair.

‘Ready to set new international records’

Canik General Manager Cahit Utku Aral, quoted in the statement, highlighted that they were the only private sector weapons manufacturer among the top 10 Turkish defense companies in exports in 2023.

Expressing their participation in Eurosatory, one of the world’s leading defense and security industry events in 2024, Aral said: “We are witnessing the significant difference the ecosystem created with SYS Group companies is making in the global defense industry.

Eurosatory will be a key meeting point for the latest developments, dedicated collaborations, and future trends in defense and security, enriched by the participation of many valuable delegations this year.”

Aral emphasized that Canik has become the fifth largest company globally with its light weapons, accounting for 75% of Türkiye’s exports in this field, and noted that the average net export value per kilogram for SYS Group companies in 2023 was over 300 dollars, expecting this figure to increase further in 2024.

Aral underscored the pride in completing 2023 with a record export performance, affirming the Turkish defense industry’s determination to replicate this success in the current year, stating: “As Canik and all group companies, we are delighted to contribute to our country’s defense industry’s success story.”

“This year, we are ready to set new records internationally with our superior quality and innovative solutions produced according to the concepts we have developed.”

“We believe we will maintain our leadership position in our export journey with our customer-focused approach and technological superiority. We eagerly look forward to meeting our valued participants and visitors at Eurosatory. Together, we will establish strong collaborations and take strategic steps toward the future, contributing to our global vision in defense and security,” he concluded.
