Azerbaijan’s military power is poised for significant growth with the use of advanced Turkish defense firm, Roketsan‘s weaponry, including the Teber guided bomb kit and the SOM cruise missile, according to Roketsan General Manager Murat Ikinci.

Speaking at the 5th Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition (ADEX 2024) in Baku, Ikinci emphasized the strong partnership between Türkiye and Azerbaijan, particularly in defense.

“Not only with the Su-25, but also with the integration of Teber munitions on the Akinci platform, I believe Azerbaijan’s armed forces will see a substantial increase in striking power,” Ikinci told Anadolu Agency. He added that the collaboration between the two nations has been growing and the continued use of Turkish-made defense systems is highly valued by Azerbaijan.

Advanced weaponry expands Azerbaijan’s military capabilities

Roketsan’s Teber precision-guided missile, which has already been successfully deployed by Azerbaijan on Su-25 aircraft, will also be utilized on the Akinci unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV).

Ikinci noted, “The integration of the Teber guided bomb kit and other Roketsan products with both the Su-25 and Akinci platforms will further enhance Azerbaijan’s military strength.”

Additionally, Ikinci highlighted the potential of the Cakir cruise missile, which will be integrated into the Akinci UCAV, providing effective strikes against air defense systems at distances of up to 150 kilometers. “We believe Azerbaijan’s armed forces will benefit greatly from the Cakir missile’s capabilities,” he said.
