SpaceX delays the Ax3 mission from Wednesday to Thursday.

The highly anticipated Ax3 mission, marking Turkiye’s inaugural journey into space, faced a brief setback as the launch from Wednesday to Thursday, according to SpaceX’s social media post.

The decision to delay the mission will benefit the astronauts in completing pre-launch checkouts and data analysis on the vehicle, SpaceX said

Colonel Alper Gezeravci, a distinguished Turkish Air Forces F-16 pilot, is set to embark on this historic mission alongside astronauts from Spain, Italy, and Sweden, as previously announced by Minister Kacir.

The selection of Gezeravci as Turkiye’s first prospective space traveler was announced earlier this year at TEKNOFEST, a major technology event. Gezeravci’s background as an accomplished F-16 pilot in the Turkish Air Forces adds a layer of expertise to the mission.

Turkiye has been making significant strides in its space exploration efforts, establishing the Turkish Space Agency in 2018. The agency unveiled its space program in 2019, expressing its ambitious goal of launching a crewed mission into space, a milestone that the Ax3 mission is poised to achieve
