Aselsan celebrates graduation of first students from its vocational and technical school
Aselsan, a frontrunner in Turkish defense, celebrated a milestone achievement with the graduation of its first class from the Aselsan Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School (MTAL). This initiative stemmed from a protocol signed with the Ministry of National Education.
On Jan. 3, 2019, the Ministry of National Education’s Directorate General for Vocational and Technical Education (MTEGM) and Aselsan signed a cooperation protocol. This collaboration culminated with a ceremony celebrating the graduation of the first-ever class from Aselsan MTAL.
Head of Presidency of Defense Industries Prof. Haluk Gorgun, Aselsan General Manager Ahmet Akyol and officials from the Ministry of National Education attended the ceremony.
In his speech at the ceremony, Gorgun congratulated the students and their parents, emphasizing that not only academics but also all individuals continue their learning journey throughout life. He highlighted the significant contributions of the defense industry, mentioning the vision set by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the responsibilities entrusted to them, and the support received from the sector, which are all driven by love for the nation and flag.
Gorgun noted the high demand for Aselsan MTAL, with students with the highest grades choosing the school. He remarked, “We have seen that mutual efforts have brought us to where we are today over the past 4 years and beyond.”
Highlighting Aselsan’s commitments in both spiritual and material aspects, Gorgun offered advice to the students: “Graduating from this school is important, but what’s more important is graduating with pride from life itself. To graduate with pride in life, you will do many things and engage in various social and professional activities. You should never forget that how you do things is more valuable than what you do.”
‘We are working to advance Aselsan’
Aselsan General Manager Akyol mentioned experiencing a first as a company, stating, “Our school, like Aselsan since its establishment, has pioneered technology and education in Türkiye and globally.” He affirmed that Aselsan has fulfilled its brand’s mission and responsibilities, stating that it will continue confidently into the future with its graduates.
Akyol expressed the company’s value for education and youth, saying, “We invest in education from primary school onwards. Starting with ‘Tekno Macera’ and continuing with TEKNOFESTs, we culminate with our vocational high schools in both Konya and Ankara. After graduation, we invite students to join Aselsan Academy for learning and career development, followed by our Aselsan 101 programs for the second year of university, ROTA A Talent programs for prospective engineers from the third year, and A Talent programs for prospective engineers from the fourth year.”
Akyol emphasized that they will continue their learning and development career at Aselsan Academy and carry their pride-worthy projects step by step into the future. He asserted their confidence in this regard, saying, “We have come to today as Türkiye’s largest defense industry company. However, we do not see this as sufficient success. We have set grand visions and goals. We are working with our team under the leadership of our state to take ASELSAN far beyond its current position for Türkiye in 2030 and 2040.”
