The documentary features striking images and videos captured by on-site journalists in Gaza.

“In an environment where Israel ruthlessly massacres both Palestinians and the truth, Türkiye will not remain silent; we will speak through our media. We will continue proclaiming justice and truth,” Communications Director Altun said.

Altun described “The Evidence” as a truly historical project, explaining that since Oct. 7th, the documentary has been documenting every form of oppression, war crime, and genocide committed by Israel.

Numerous experts contributed to the documentary

He mentioned the contributions of international organizations such as the President of the International Court of Justice, the U.N. Special Rapporteur, Amnesty International, and Human Rights Watch, which shared comprehensive data about the situation in Gaza.

Altun drew attention to the attempted eradication and genocide of the Palestinian people before the eyes of the world, emphasizing that states claiming to be members of the civilized world blatantly support Israel, allowing it to subject Palestinians to genocide.

He said that the “Evidence” documentary, reveals this genocide that is persistently denied, ignored, and attempted to be covered up with its evidence. Altun believed that with this documentary, the world would see how approximately 34,000 people, including 14,000 children, were brutally killed before their eyes.

Altun expressed hope that humanity will realize how blind, deaf, and mute it has been in the face of such a massive genocide and understand who has stood on the side of truth and justice during this process.

‘Compelling and meticulously drafted’

Derya Yanik, AK Party Member of Parliament for Osmaniye and Chair of the Human Rights Examination Commission of the Turkish Parliament, expressed gratitude to AA’s Chairman of the Board and General Director, Serdar Karagoz, and all those involved in the documentary, emphasizing the importance of documenting the evidence in history and its significance for the International Criminal Court (ICC) case – particularly in using evidence collected by journalists on-site.

Yanik highlighted the utilization of primary evidence captured by AA during the case’s first trial, underscoring the documentary’s complementary nature. She described the documentary as compelling and meticulously crafted, expressing profound emotional impact.

Documentary carries importance for future legal battles

He lamented the lack of international action but noted the documentary’s importance for future legal battles.

After the screening, plaques were presented to the families of AA’s Gaza-based staff, and plaques were given to the director and producer of the documentary.
