The pavilions at the SAHA Expo 2024 International Defense, Aviation and Space Industry Fair, which will take place in October, will feature the artificial intelligence and cyber security sectors, which have made their mark in recent years.

The organization of SAHA Istanbul, Europe’s largest industrial cluster, will organize SAHA Expo 2024, one of Türkiye’s largest defense and aerospace fairs, from October 22 to 26.

Under the presidency’s auspices, companies and institutions from all over the world will participate in the fair. The Istanbul Expo Center will host the event, showcasing the latest and new products of the defense industry.

There will be five pavilions at the fair, which will take place for the fourth time this year and is expected to attract 150,000 people. Last year’s event showcased space, testing and certification, and software pavilions, but this year will introduce a cybersecurity and AI pavilion for the first time.

The pavilions in the 90,000 square meter fair area, where the leading companies and institutions of the sector will meet, will also have a special design.

‘AI important for defense industry’

Murad Cakir, general manager of SAHA Expo, stated that AI and cybersecurity are innovative areas that are on the agenda and important for the defense industry.

Stating that they are carrying out joint activities with the Defense Industry Artificial Intelligence Talent Cluster and the Turkish Cyber Security Cluster, Cakir said that as a result, the idea of holding separate pavilions for both sectors was formed.

Pointing out that AI and cybersecurity are among the most important fields of recent years, Cakir said: “Artificial intelligence and cyber security are areas where products that have an important place in the future of the defense industry will be produced. For this reason, we wanted to bring companies operating in these fields to the forefront of SAHA Expo.”

He stated that they will underscore the significance of these issues in the establishment of the pavilions.

“Sector pavilions allow exhibitors and visitors interested in a specific field to easily reach these companies,” he said. “These areas we announce attract the attention of sector representatives. These pavilions, which we have created especially to support the export targets of our SMEs, will have the opportunity to open their products to the world market with the meetings we will organize with local and foreign participants and delegations.”
