62 dead in traffic accidents during Eid Al-Fitr holiday in Türkiye

Ali Yerlikaya, the Minister of the Interior, reported that 62 people lost their lives in traffic accidents during the first seven days of the Bayram (Eid al-Fitr) holiday. On the seventh day of the holiday a total of 628,532 vehicles on the roads were inspected.
Yerlikaya shared these figures on his X account, providing detailed information about traffic incidents during the holiday period. He emphasized that, in total, 62 individuals had died, and 7,388 people had been injured in traffic accidents across the first seven days of the Bayram holiday.
Additionally, on Saturday, 26,475 vehicles were subjected to speed and radar enforcement, while 46,094 vehicles received other forms of inspection.
These statistics highlight the risks of road travel during high-traffic periods like Bayram, where increased awareness and safety measures are crucial to prevent further incidents. Road traffic accidents unfortunately become widespread during the end of Ramadan across Türkiye as millions of travel to be with loved ones or go to vacation.
