5.1 magnitude earthquake rattles Türkiye’s western Izmir
A 5.1 magnitude earthquake hit off the shores of Kusadasi in the Aegean Sea, shaking regions including Izmir.
A magnitude 5.1 earthquake shook Türkiye’s Izmir province Saturday morning and was felt in the surrounding provinces, the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) said.
The 5.1 magnitude quake struck at a depth of 8.1 kilometers (5.03 miles).
No casualties or damage were reported initially, Izmir Governor Suleyman Elban told the local media.
