47 irregular migrants detained in separate operations in Türkiye’s Izmir, Edirne

A total of 47 irregular migrants were apprehended in separate incidents off the coast of Izmir’s Seferihisar district and in Edirne.
According to a statement on the Coast Guard Command’s website, teams were dispatched to the Seferihisar area upon receiving information about a group of irregular migrants. A rubber boat carrying 36 migrants, including 18 children, was intercepted.
Meanwhile, security forces in Edirne continued inspections to prevent irregular migration. During these operations, 11 migrants of Egyptian, Afghan and Pakistani origin were detained.
Following the necessary procedures, all migrants were handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management.
