A 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck the Saros Gulf on Wednesday afternoon, with tremors felt in Türkiye’s Tekirdag, Edirne, and Canakkale.

According to initial reports from AFAD (Disaster and Emergency Management Authority), the earthquake occurred at 14:34 local time, with an epicenter in the Aegean Sea, near Saros Gulf, at a depth of 25.5 kilometers.

Kandilli Observatory also confirmed the earthquake’s location in the same region, but reported a slightly different depth of 14.5 kilometers. Kandilli’s data placed the earthquake’s magnitude at 4.6.

There have been no immediate reports of significant damage. Local authorities are closely monitoring the situation, though concerns about potential aftershocks remain.
