39 suspects apprehended in nationwide terrorist group FETO ‘Kiskac-27’operations
In a series of operations targeting the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) across 17 provinces in Türkiye, 39 suspects were apprehended on Saturday.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced via social media that the “Kiskac-27” operations were coordinated by the General Directorate of Security’s Counterterrorism Department, Intelligence Department, and Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) Department.
These operations involved provincial police forces from multiple regions. Among the provinces that participated were Adana, Antalya, Balikesir, Bursa, Corum, Denizli, Edirne, and Eskisehir. Forces from Gaziantep, Kocaeli, Manisa, Malatya, Mardin, Osmaniye, Samsun, Sanliurfa and Zonguldak also took part in the operations.
Yerlikaya stated the suspects were involved in FETO’s so-called “military and police structure, current operations, and financial network.” They allegedly used payphones for communication and were identified as “ByLock” users – an encrypted messaging app linked to FETO.
The suspects were also named in testimonies and had outstanding arrest warrants, with finalized prison sentences.
A significant amount of digital material was seized during the operations.
Yerlikaya reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to its fight against terrorism, stating: “We will give no respite to FETO members.”
