37 injured in Greece-Türkiye bus accident near Canakkale

A tour bus traveling from Greece to Izmir veered off the road in the Gelibolu district of Canakkale after the driver reportedly lost control. The number of injured passengers has risen to 37.
The Mercedes-brand tour bus, operated by Ozikizler, was returning from the Xanthi Carnival in Greece when the accident occurred. A total of 44 passengers were on board.
Emergency teams arrived and transported the injured passengers to hospitals in Gelibolu and Canakkale for treatment.
Driver reportedly falls asleep
Initial reports suggest that the driver, identified as Y.B., may have fallen asleep at the wheel. He was also among the injured.
Passengers stated that the bus had been delayed for approximately five hours at the Greece-Türkiye border due to heavy congestion.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
