324 suspects arrested in operations carried out after counterfeit alcohol deaths

Türkiye’s Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced the arrest of 324 suspects involved in illegal alcohol production over the past two weeks.

The arrests were part of the “Cengel-9” and “Cengel-10” operations conducted nationwide to combat the production and distribution of fake alcohol.

Authorities seized 159,767 liters of counterfeit alcohol during the raids, underscoring the scale of the operation.

In a statement on social media, Yerlikaya reaffirmed the government’s commitment to safeguarding public health and safety, emphasizing that efforts to combat fake alcohol production will continue with determination.

“Our operations against counterfeit alcohol production continue with determination to protect the life and health of our citizens,” Yerlikaya stated.
