16 suspects detained in Istanbul in anti-Daesh operation
Istanbul police have detained 16 individuals as part of a counter-terrorism operation targeting suspected members of the terrorist organization Daesh.
According to authorities, the suspects were believed to have links to conflict zones and were identified as posing a potential threat to Türkiye’s security.
Focus on conflict zone connections
The Counterterrorism Division of the Istanbul Police Department conducted extensive investigations to locate individuals allegedly operating in coordination with conflict zones.
The suspects were determined to have ties to Daesh and were reportedly involved in activities that raised national security concerns.
Law enforcement carried out simultaneous raids on identified addresses across Istanbul, successfully apprehending all 16 suspects.
The individuals have been taken into custody for further processing at police headquarters.
