Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya has announced the results of the recent “Gurz-37” operations targeting the PKK/YPG terrorist group across Türkiye.

Conducted over the last 10 days by the gendarmerie in coordination with the Public Prosecutor’s Offices, these operations led to the apprehension of 147 suspects in 41 provinces.

Key details of operations

The operations focused on individuals allegedly involved in activities with the PKK/YPG, including:

  • Operating within the terror group
  • Providing financial support to the group
  • Participating in its youth structure
  • Conducting propaganda via social media

Among those apprehended, 30 suspects have been formally arrested, while 17 were placed under judicial control.

The legal processes for the remaining individuals are ongoing.

Provinces involved in Gurz-37 operations

The operations took place across a wide geographical range, including provinces such as Adana, Ankara, Diyarbakir, Izmir, and Van.

Authorities reported the confiscation of significant evidence, including organizational documents and digital materials linked to the PKK/YPG terrorist organization.

Minister Yerlikaya praised the efforts of all agencies involved, stating, “I congratulate our Chief Public Prosecutor’s Offices who coordinated the operations and our Heroic Gendarmerie who carried out the operations.”
