During a weekly press briefing by the Ministry of National Defense, the latest information regarding the fight against terrorism was shared.
In this context, a total of 108 terrorists, including alleged leaders, were eliminated in the past week, spanning areas including northern Iraq and Syria.
This brings the total number of terrorists neutralized since January 1st to 953. Additionally, two PKK terrorists who fled from hideouts in northern Iraq surrendered to the border post at Habur last week.
Notorious for utilizing northern Iraq as a base for planning attacks against Türkiye, the PKK continues to pose a significant threat to regional security.
With a history spanning nearly four decades, the PKK’s terror campaign has led to the loss of over 40,000 lives in Türkiye, including innocent civilians, women, and children, solidifying its status as a terrorist organization recognized by Türkiye, the United States, and the European Union.
