105 irregular migrants caught in Izmir, Türkiye
In the Karaburun and Cesme districts of Izmir, 105 irregular migrants, including 20 children, were caught at sea and on land.
The Coast Guard Command’s website states that they dispatched a boat team to the area after receiving information about irregular migrants in life rafts off the coast of Karaburun.
The teams captured 36 irregular migrants, including 16 children, in two life rafts.
The Coast Guard Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Team on duty in Doluca, Karaburun district, detected a group of irregular migrants on land.
The gendarmerie assisted in the capture of 32 irregular migrants, including 2 children.
Additionally, authorities detained 1 suspect for alleged migrant smuggling.
Coast Guard teams off the coast of Cesme also captured 37 irregular migrants, including 2 children, in a rubber boat they stopped.
Following the procedures, the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management received and processed the irregular migrants.
