10 terrorists arrested in anti-PKK/YPG operation in Istanbul
Turkish police detained 10 suspects during an operation targeting members of the PKK/YPG terrorist group in Istanbul and Kars.
Authorities stated that the suspects were involved in unauthorized demonstrations and vandalism acts directed by the terrorist group’s so-called “youth wing”.
PKK/YPG terrorists involved in illegal protests
The suspects reportedly participated in several illegal activities across Istanbul, including:
- Hanging banners in Esenyurt
- Unauthorized demonstrations in Yenikent Neighborhood and Bagcilar
- Molotov cocktail attack on a municipal building in Beyoglu
- Chanting pro-terrorism slogans and setting off fireworks in Sancaktepe Sarigazi
Police operations across multiple districts
The Istanbul CTerror Department conducted coordinated operations in four Istanbul districts and in Kars. During the raids, police seized banned publications, organizational documents, and digital materials.
The suspects have been taken into custody for questioning. Authorities stated that the seized materials are currently under examination as part of the ongoing investigation into the suspect’s ties to the PKK/YPG.
