Turkish women’s volleyball team’s star player Cansu Ozbay is known for her quick game management and ball control. Her leadership on the court and smart sets make her a crucial player for both her club and the national team.

Ozbay began her national volleyball career at the 2013 European Championship for U17 Girls. She came off the bench in the group stage matches against France, Russia, Germany, Serbia and the Netherlands.
She entered the game from the sidelines during the semifinal match against Poland and played in the first two sets of the bronze medal match against Serbia. That year, she also participated in the 2013 European Youth Olympic Festival and the 2013 U17 World Championship.
At the World Championship, she played in the group stage matches for Türkiye against Italy, Taipei, Peru and Mexico. She scored 6 points (two attacks, two serves, two blocks) in the match against Mexico.
Türkiye finished in 9th place at the 2013 World Championship.
In 2014, Ozbay joined the roster for the U17 World Championship. She came off the bench in the matches against Slovenia, Italy, Belgium and Finland.
She started in the first six for the 3rd, 4th and 5th sets of the match against Russia.
In the semifinal against Serbia, she entered the game from the sidelines in the first set and started in the first six for the remaining sets. In the bronze medal match against Greece, she came off the bench in the first set and started in the first six for the 2nd and 3rd sets.
In 2015, Ozbay competed in the European qualifiers for the U19 World Championship. She played in the matches against Estonia, Croatia, and Greece. Türkiye qualified for the tournament based on its world ranking, and Ozbay participated in the matches against the Dominican Republic, Brazil, Czech Republic, Puerto Rico, Egypt and China. Türkiye finished in 9th place at the tournament.
In 2018, Ozbay competed in the Nations League. She played in matches against Italy, the USA, Poland, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Argentina, Belgium, Russia, Serbia, Japan, Thailand, South Korea, the Netherlands, Germany and China.
After defeating Brazil in the semifinals, Türkiye lost to the U.S. in the final. Ozbay was named the best setter of the tournament.
In 2019, Ozbay competed in the Nations League again. She played in matches against the Dominican Republic, Bulgaria, Thailand, Belgium, Italy and Brazil.
Türkiye finished the group stage unbeaten.
They lost to Brazil in the semifinals and finished fourth in the bronze medal match. Additionally, Ozbay competed in the 2019 Montreux Volley Masters and the 2019 European Volleyball Championship.
In 2021, Ozbay played in the FIVB Women’s Volleyball Nations League and the European qualifiers for the 2020 Olympics.
Türkiye finished fifth in the Olympics and placed third in the 2021 European Volleyball Championship.
In 2022, Ozbay participated in the FIVB Women’s Volleyball Nations League and the World Volleyball Championship.
Türkiye finished fourth in the Nations League and eighth in the World Championship.
In 2023, Ozbay was part of the rosters for the FIVB Women’s Volleyball Nations League, the European Volleyball Championship, and the Volleyball World Cup. Türkiye won all three tournaments, finishing in first place.
