Besiktas President Serdal Adali reacted to the decision of appointing Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic for the upcoming Galatasaray-Fenerbahce derby, stating that his club also wants foreign referees for their key matches like Fenerbahce-Besiktas and Besiktas-Galatasaray.

“Despite the controversies we have faced, we have always trusted Turkish referees. But now that a foreign referee has been assigned to such a crucial match, we demand the same for our games against Galatasaray and Fenerbahce. The federation should start making arrangements now,” Adali said.

We want the same referee assigned to officiate Galatasaray-Fenerbahce match (Slavko Vincic) for our matches.

Adali also expressed concerns about the precedent set by this decision: “I don’t think this was a good move. It would have been better if we had a chance to discuss it as clubs beforehand.”
