Victor Osimhen ranks second in footballers with biggest market value drops in 2024
Transfermarkt has published a list of footballers whose market values have dropped the most over the past year. In the greatest decreases in market value since the Jan. 1, 2024 list, Galatasaray’s Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen ranks first.
Several players in the top 10 have been linked to Turkish clubs, adding to the intrigue.
One of the most notable declines in market value this year involves Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen. The 25-year-old began 2024 with a market value of €110 million. However, following a turbulent summer transfer saga, his valuation dropped significantly.
Osimhen’s move to the Turkish Super Lig, after a failed transfer to Chelsea, led to a €10 million decrease in his value in Serie A’s June update.
Following his loan to Galatasaray, his market value fell by another €25 million, now standing at €75 million, as Napoli appears willing to sanction a permanent sale at that price.
