Turkish national football team secured a 2-1 victory against Austria in Euro 2024, with standout player Ferdi Kadioglu making a significant impact. Kadioglu broke the tournament record by covering a distance of 12.2 kilometers (7.58 miles) during the match.
The 24-year-old midfielder garnered attention for his stellar performance. In addition to setting the distance record, Kadioglu had 71 ball touches, the highest in the match. He also won 10 duels and made six successful interventions, establishing himself as one of the top performers of the game. Kadioglu earned three fouls, the most by any player in the match.
Merih Demiral’s goal among fastest in Euro history
Demiral’s goal in Euro 2024 is now recorded as the second-fastest goal in the history of the European Championships. Of the six quickest goals scored in Euro 2024, four have been achieved during this tournament.
Michael Gregoritsch’s goal for Austria marked the 100th goal of Euro 2024. With this result, Austria has not won elimination matches since the 1954 World Cup.
