Turkish wrestlers are primed for action in the European Olympic qualifiers in Azerbaijan, with their sights set on securing coveted spots for Paris 2024
National wrestlers from Türkiye will participate in the European Olympic qualifiers, commencing in Azerbaijan on Friday.
In the capital city of Baku, from April 5 to 7, four national wrestlers, each in Greco-Roman, men’s freestyle, and women’s categories will strive to secure quotas for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The quotas for the Greco-Roman style will be distributed on Friday, April 5, for women on April 6, and for men’s freestyle on April 7 during the European Olympic qualifiers in Azerbaijan.
Enes Basar, Selcuk Can, Burhan Akbudak, and Dogan Yilmaz will take to the mat in Greco-Roman style.
In the women’s category, Zeynep Yetgil, Elvira Kamaloglu, Kadriye Aksoy, and Yasemin Adar Yigit will compete; in the men’s freestyle, Suleyman Atli, Abdullah Toprak, Soner Demirtas, and Osman Gocen will wrestle.
The wrestlers who advance to the finals in their respective weight classes will secure the right to participate in the Olympics.
