Turkish wrestler Riza Kayaalp secured the silver medal at the 2024 European Wrestling Championship in Bucharest

Turkish wrestler Riza Kayaalp won the silver medal on Tuesday at the 2024 European Wrestling Championship, which was held in Bucharest, the capital of Romania.

Kayaalp, who faced Russian wrestler Sergei Semenov in the men’s Greco-Roman 130 kilogram final, came second, losing to his opponent in the tough wrestling fight.

 Kayaalp has achieved many international successes since he started his wrestling career. He represented Türkiye internationally with European championships, World Championship medals and Olympic performances and significantly contributed to Turkish wrestling.

Wrestling stands out as one of the traditional and deep-rooted branches of Turkish sports and is followed with great interest in the country.
