Turkish national judoka Yildiz reaches semifinals
On the opening day of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Turkish judoka Salih Yildiz delivered an impressive performance, advancing to the semifinals after securing a spot in the quarterfinals.
In the judo competitions held at Champ de Mars Arena, Yildiz faced Jamaican Ashley McKenzie in the last 16 rounds of men’s 60 kg.
The 23-year-old sensation stormed into the semifinals with a decisive waza-ari victory over world number two Giorgi Sardalashvili of Georgia.
Yildiz will now face France’s Luka Mkheidze in the semifinals as he chases gold.
