Turkish footballer Hakan Calhanoglu sets Serie A record with 17 Straight penalty goals
Turkish footballer Hakan Calhanoglu has made Serie A history by setting a record for consecutive penalty goals.
Beginning his streak in 2020 while playing for Milan, Calhanoglu scored his 17th consecutive penalty goal last night against Lecce.
This achievement surpasses the previous record of 16 held by Giampaolo Pazzini.
Calhanoglu’s journey began in June 2020, during the pandemic when leagues resumed.
His first penalty goal of the streak was against Roma while he was with Milan.
He faced Lecce’s goalkeeper Falcone and calmly converted the penalty on Aug.24’s night, securing both Inter’s victory and his place in Serie A’s record books.
