Turkic Council elects Turkish Football Federation as leading body
During the 74th FIFA Congress in Bangkok, the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) was elected as the Chairman of the Council of Cooperation of Turkic-speaking countries
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has been elected as the leading body of the Council of Cooperation of Turkic-speaking countries.
This year, the Council of Cooperation of Turkic-speaking countries convened during the 74th FIFA Congress in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.
According to a statement from the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), the congress was attended by the presidents and senior officials of the football federations of Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Hungary, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
TFF was represented by President Mehmet Buyukeksi, Vice President, Executive Board Member, Board Member Responsible for FIFA, UEFA Relations, and External Relations Mustafa Erogut, General Secretary Taner Senseven, Director of External Relations and National Teams Administrative Director Bugra Imamogullari.
FIFA’s Director of European National Associations, Elkhan Mammadov, also participated in the meeting.
As part of the ongoing cooperation agreement, it was decided that TFF would assume the council’s presidency for a one-year term starting June 1.
Additionally, it was agreed that Türkiye will host a tournament for one of the youth national team age groups in the fall of 2024.
