Solskjaer eyes fellow Norwegian Patrick Berg for Besiktas move

Besiktas has accelerated its transfer plans, with head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer making initial contact with Patrick Berg, the star midfielder of Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt.
Berg, 27, is reportedly keen on a move to the Turkish club, with discussions between the player and Solskjaer indicating strong mutual interest.
The transfer is expected to be finalized following further talks with Bodo/Glimt.
The Norwegian midfielder, valued at €5 million ($5.6 million), has enjoyed a successful career at Bodo/Glimt.
Berg’s solid performance in this season
In 2025, Berg made 22 appearances, scoring two goals and providing three assists across various competitions, including the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Champions League qualifiers.
He played 14 matches in the UEFA Europa League, contributing two goals and three assists in 1,320 minutes of play. Additionally, he featured in six UEFA Champions League qualifying matches, totaling 540 minutes.
In the Norwegian league, Eliteserien, he made two appearances, adding 180 minutes to his tally.
Berg has been a crucial figure for Bodo/Glimt, accumulating 290 appearances, with 38 goals and 37 assists. Besiktas is expected to finalize the deal soon, bringing Berg’s expertise to their midfield.
