Rockets lose season opener despite strong performance from Alperen Sengun
The Houston Rockets suffered a 110-105 defeat to the Charlotte Hornets in their season opener at Toyota Center on Wednesday night, despite a standout performance from center Alperen Sengun.
Sengun dominated the court with 25 points and 18 rebounds, but the Rockets couldn’t hold onto an 18-point second-half lead. Guard LaMelo Ball led the Hornets’ comeback, as Houston struggled to close out the game in the absence of veteran center Steven Adams.
Jalen Green added 28 points for the Rockets, but defensive lapses and missed opportunities in the second half allowed Charlotte to secure the win.
