The 21-year-old Turkish center, who stands at 6’11” and was selected 16th overall by Oklahoma City in the 2021 draft, has emerged as one of the NBA’s most improved players this season. His season averages of 18.8 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 5.3 assists place him among the league’s most versatile big men.

The victory marked Houston’s first win in Toronto since December 2019, with Sengun’s efficient performance proving crucial. He shot 50% from the field and added five assists, two blocks, and three steals in 33 minutes of play, demonstrating his two-way impact.

Recent statistics by Hoopshype highlight Sengun’s rising status in the league. Over the past seven days, he ranked fourth among all NBA players with a 32.41 player rating, averaging 23 points and 9 rebounds during that span.

The win was a team effort, with Dillon Brooks scoring 27 points and Jalen Green adding 22, but Sengun’s presence in the paint and playmaking ability helped seal the victory. A key moment came late in the game when Sengun connected with Cam Whitmore for an alley-oop dunk that gave Houston its largest lead at 99-91.

The Rockets, now looking to build on their momentum, head to Charlotte for their next game on Monday.
