Real Madrid’s team bus was involved in a motorway accident on the way to the Champions League match with RB

A bus carrying the Real Madrid team was involved in a motorway accident on Monday en route to their clash with RB Leipzig.

The incident occurred due to a rescheduled trip caused by a strike at Leipzig airport, prompting Real Madrid to alter their travel plans.

Instead of the initially planned direct flight to Leipzig, the team landed in Erfurt and embarked on a bus journey of over 160 kilometers (9942 miles). The A4 motorway between Eichelborn and Nohra became the site of an accident involving the Madrid team bus and a white Toyota.

The collision occurred when the driver of the car overlooked the bus while changing lanes, resulting in damage to the outside rear-view mirror of the Toyota Avensis, estimated at 3,000 euros ($3,229.7). Fortunately, the incident did not escalate further, and after a brief stop, both vehicles continued their journey without any significant disruptions.

The extent of the damage to the Real Madrid bus is yet to be entirely determined. The unforeseen incident added an element of drama to Real Madrid’s travel plans and highlighted the challenges teams can face when navigating logistical issues, such as airport strikes and subsequent travel adjustments.
