Real Madrid, leading the Spanish La Liga, faced challenging 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday

In a thrilling La Liga encounter on Sunday, Spanish football giants Real Madrid faced a setback as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Rayo Vallecano. 

The match, which took place at an intense pace, saw Real Madrid taking an early lead with a goal from Spanish forward Joselu, showcasing their attacking prowess.

However, the momentum shifted in the 27th minute when Rayo Vallecano was awarded a penalty kick due to a handball committed by Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga. 

Raul de Tomas stepped up for Rayo Vallecano and successfully converted the penalty, leveling the score at 1-1.

Real Madrid move 6 points clear in La Liga; second place Girona to face Athletic Bilbao on Monday.
