Fenerbahce’s head coach Jose Mourinho acknowledged the team is not yet at the level needed for high-level play and sought more time to improve.

Despite starting the Super Lig season with a win and maintaining hopes for the Champions League, Mourinho admitted the team is physically not prepared.

With three wins and one loss in four official matches, Mourinho recognized the need for further development. He noted the team has only been training at full strength for two weeks, despite working together for nearly two months.

Mourinho emphasized they are far from their best and need time to achieve good, high-tempo football.

He also explained that the team’s physical shortcomings were the reason for the team not starting European matches with high pressure.

The squad is not yet capable of maintaining this style for 90 minutes.

Mourinho stressed improvement is needed in all aspects of play, both defensively and offensively.

While praising the team’s improved defense against Adana Demir compared to matches against Lugano and Lille, Mourinho pointed out that the results have not reflected the team’s performance, highlighting concerns over goal-scoring efficiency.
