Turkish motorcycle racer Toprak Razgatlioglu secured victories in both races of the fourth leg of the World Superbike Championship held at the 4.2-kilometer (2.6 miles) International Misano Marco Simoncelli Circuit in Rimini, Italy.

In the first race, Razgatlioglu, racing for the Rokit BMW team, started from pole position and clinched his fourth win of the season and the 43rd of his career.

Nicolo Bulega from the Aruba Ducati team finished second, while Alvaro Bautista secured third place. This victory allowed Razgatlioglu to amass 142 points, placing him 3 points ahead of Bautista, the reigning champion for the past two years, and taking the lead in the riders’ standings.

The second race held the following day at 3:00 p.m. GMT, saw a dramatic start as Razgatlioglu dropped to fifth place but regained the lead with 14 laps remaining. He continued to widen the gap, ultimately winning his sixth race of the season and the 45th of his career.

Bulega and Bautista finished second and third, respectively.

With this win, Razgatlioglu increased his championship points to 179, extending his lead over Bulega by 21 points.

The fifth leg of the Superbike Championship is scheduled for July 13-14 in England.
