Fenerbahce has faced a substantial financial loss after parting ways with three players as directed by Jose Mourinho. The departures of Luan Peres, Joao Pedro and Rade Krunic cost the club around $15 million.

Jose Mourinho’s transfer deals, as he oversaw the reshaping of the squad, were looking to create space for new signings, including stars like Allan Saint-Maximin, Youssef En-Nesyri and Sofyan Amrabat. However, these decisions came with a hefty price tag.

Fenerbahce parts ways with Peres, Pedro, Krunic at heavy costs

Luan Peres was one of the most significant losses for Fenerbahce among Jose Mourinho’s transfer deals. The club signed him from Marseille in 2022 for $5.8 million. However, he left for Brazilian club Santos without a transfer fee, marking a substantial loss for the club.

Joao Pedro’s transfer followed a similar pattern. He joined from Cagliari for over $5 million in 2022, but Fenerbahce terminated his contract, adding another financial burden.

Finally, Rade Krunic, who came to Fenerbahce from AC Milan for almost $4 million, also left without generating any revenue. Fenerbahce sent him to the Serbian club Red Star Belgrade. However, there is some potential for future compensation.

The deal with Red Star includes a clause that gives Fenerbahce 50% of any future transfer fee. Despite this, the current loss stands at almost $15 million.

While Fenerbahce has faced losses from these player departures, the club also made a record-breaking sale this summer. Ferdi Kadioglu was sold to Brighton for a total of $33.3 million, including bonus clauses. This transfer marked a new milestone for Fenerbahce, as it was one of the highest sales in its history.

However, the gains from Kadioglu’s sale could not fully offset the losses from the three departing players. The total loss of nearly $15 million from Luan Peres, Joao Pedro, and Rade Krunic has put financial pressure on the club, raising concerns among fans and analysts regarding Jose Mourinho’s transfer deals.

Fenerbahce’s future hinges on Jose Mourinho’s transfer deals, strategy

Jose Mourinho’s strategy of reshaping the squad has received mixed reactions. While the addition of stars like Maximin and En-Nesyri boosts Fenerbahce’s chances in both the Super Lig and European competitions, the financial losses from the recent departures pose a challenge.

The club’s ability to recover from these losses will largely depend on the success of its new signings and whether the future sale of Rade Krunic brings any financial relief.
