Galatasaray’s Zalewski bid falls through
Galatasaray officials traveled to Rome via private jet to negotiate the acquisition of Roma’s left winger, Nicola Zalewski. Roma set a transfer fee of 8 million euros ($8.88 million) plus 4 million euros for Zalewski, whose contract expires at the end of the season.
Initially, Galatasaray offered up to 10 million euros and agreed to Roma’s terms. Following prolonged negotiations late into the night, Galatasaray proposed an annual salary of 1.6 million euros to Zalewski. Galatasaray later increased this offer to 2 million euros. Despite these efforts, Zalewski, who currently earns 400,000 euros annually at Roma, declined the offer.
Zalwewski’s reluctance to relocate
Galatasaray representatives indicated that the issue was not financial, but rather Zalewski’s reluctance to relocate to Türkiye. Consequently, the transfer did not proceed.
Zalewski has expressed his commitment to competing for a place in Roma’s lineup. This season, the 23-year-old has played a total of 145 minutes across three Serie A matches, starting only one. Zalewski also represents the Polish national team.
