Galatasaray, Fenerbahce competing for Atletico Madrid star Angel Correa

With just 10 weeks remaining in the Turkish Super Lig season, the battle for the title between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce is intensifying.
Galatasaray currently leads the league with 71 points, having played one more match, while Fenerbahce is in second place with 62 points.
As both clubs step up their preparations for the upcoming summer transfer window, they are reportedly competing for Atletico Madrid’s star player, Angel Correa.
According to TyC Sports journalist Gaston Edul, both Galatasaray and Fenerbahce have expressed interest in signing Atletico Madrid’s Argentine right-winger, Angel Correa.
Correa wants a move for more playing time
The 30-year-old forward is seeking a move away from Atletico Madrid in order to secure more playing time ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Correa wants to ensure a place in Argentina’s squad by playing more regularly, which has led him to consider leaving the Spanish club.
Atletico Madrid, with whom Correa has one year remaining on his contract, is reportedly open to negotiating a transfer. The player’s market value is estimated at €15 million, which makes him an attractive target for both Turkish clubs.
Correa’s strong performance this season
Having spent over a decade at Atletico Madrid, Angel Correa has featured in 39 matches across all competitions this season, contributing directly to 12 goals (7 goals and 5 assists). On the international stage, Correa has earned 26 caps for Argentina, scoring 3 goals.
