Galatasaray emerge victorious against Sparta Prague in the first leg of the Round of 1

Galatasaray celebrated Thursday’s victory in the first leg of the Europa League Round 16 by defeating Sparta Prague 3-2 in a thrilling match at RAMS Park.

The team took an early lead with Kerem Demirbayt’s goal in the 19th minute.

However, Angelo Preciado equalized for Sparta Prague just after halftime, and a goal by Ladislav Krejci in the 61st minute restored Galatasaray’s lead. 

Despite being reduced to 10 players after Victor Nelsson received a red card in the 62nd minute, Sparta Prague’s Jan Kuchta leveled the score at 2-2 in the 65th minute.

The drama continued into extra time, where striker Mauro Icardi helped Galatasaray win in the first minute.

The match showcased intense competition, with both teams displaying skillful gameplay and determination. 

Galatasaray’s ability to maintain a competitive edge even with a numerical disadvantage demonstrated their resilience and strategic prowess.

The second encounter of the match is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 22.
