Francesco Calzona to lead Napoli until season’s close

Napoli has appointed Francesco Calzona as caretaker manager until the end of the season after sacking Mazzarri

Napoli appointed Slovakia coach Francesco Calzona, after dismissing Walter Mazzarri who previously served as an assistant at the Serie A team but has no prior experience managing at the club level.

The 55-year-old Calzona has been given a contract until the end of the season and will be allowed to continue his duties as Slovakia coach, having helped the team qualify for the upcoming European Championship.

Amid these changes, Napoli faces a critical juncture in the season, with both domestic and European ambitions at stake. 

The club’s supporters will eagerly anticipate improvement under the new coaching leadership and hope for a positive outcome in the upcoming challenges, starting with the crucial clash against Barcelona in the Champions League.
