Ferdi Kadioglu’s debut goal for Brighton & Hove Albion was overshadowed as Liverpool battled back to claim a 2-1 win in a tense Premier League encounter. Despite Kadioglu’s early strike, which set an optimistic tone for Brighton, the Seagulls couldn’t contain Liverpool’s counterattack in the second half.

Kadioglu, on loan from Fenerbahce, marked his first Brighton goal in the 14th minute, firing a shot that left Liverpool’s defense unable to respond and quieted the Anfield crowd. Kadioglu’s confidence was clear as he navigated Liverpool’s backline to put his team ahead, showcasing his potential impact in the Premier League.

Brighton continued to apply pressure after their opener, with Danny Welbeck nearly doubling their advantage from a free kick in the 41st minute that narrowly missed the net. The Seagulls maintained a strong defense throughout the first half, managing Liverpool’s high press and forcing multiple set pieces to prevent scoring opportunities.

After halftime, Liverpool surged forward with renewed intensity. In the 69th minute, Cody Gakpo capitalized on a chaotic moment in the box, turning what looked like a cross into a goal that leveled the score. Moments later, Mohamed Salah struck decisively on a counterattack, securing Liverpool’s lead in the 72nd minute. The swift comeback shifted the game’s momentum, leaving Brighton scrambling for a response.

Brighton’s substitutions, including the additions of Evan Ferguson, Jakub Moder, and Simon Adingra, injected energy into the squad as they pressed for an equalizer in the final minutes. However, Liverpool’s defense held firm, thwarting Brighton’s advances to see out the victory.

Liverpool’s comeback positions them at the top of the Premier League standings, while Kadioglu’s debut goal for Brighton signals a promising start for the young loanee, who will aim to build on this early success in future matches
