Fenerbahce sets sights on crucial Champions League clash against Lille
Fenerbahce, which started the Super Lig with a 1-0 victory over Adana Demirspor and earned three points, all eyes are now on the second leg of the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round match against Lille at home. The Yellow Canaries lost the first leg 2-1 in an away match due to a last-minute goal.
Fenerbahce will host France’s Lille team on Aug. 13 in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round. The match, which will be played at Ulker Stadium and will start at 8 p.m., will be officiated by Spanish referee Jose Maria Sanchez.
Inigo Prieto and Juan Lopez Mir, also from Spain will assist him. Guillermo Cuadra will serve as the fourth official.
Fenerbahce, which will host France’s Lille team tomorrow, has played 273 matches in European competitions so far, winning 109 and losing 109. The Yellow Canaries have drawn 55 matches. In European competitions, Fenerbahce scored 373 goals while conceding 390.
Fenerbahce will play its 38th match in the Champions League qualifiers. In the 37 matches played in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers, the Yellow Canaries have won 14, drawn 11, and lost 12, scoring 55 goals while conceding 45.
