Fenerbahce eyes Mitrovic to replace Dzeko: Turkish media

Fenerbahce is reportedly looking to replace its 39-year-old Bosnian striker, Edin Dzeko, with 29-year-old Serbian forward Aleksandar Mitrovic from Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal by the summer, the Turkish media reported.
According to the Türkiye daily, veteran striker Dzeko, who joined from Inter Milan on a free transfer in the 2023-24 season, is expected to part ways with the club at the end of the current campaign.
The Bosnian forward is reportedly in his final season with the Yellow Canaries, and the management has decided not to renew his contract.

Following Dzeko’s impending departure, the club has reignited its interest in Aleksandar Mitrovic, who had previously been on their transfer radar.
‘Tadic’ factor
A key advantage in the potential signing of Mitrovic is Fenerbahce’s Serbian star Dusan Tadic. A close friend and national teammate of Mitrovic, Tadic is expected to play an influential role in persuading the striker to join the Istanbul side.

Mitrovic has been in remarkable form for Al-Hilal this season, scoring 21 goals and providing three assists in 25 appearances under manager Jorge Jesus, leading the club to a league title.
The 29-year-old forward, valued at approximately €25 million, remains under contract with the Saudi Pro League side until 2026.
