Fenerbahce beats Baskonia 82-77, moves to top of EuroLeague standings

Fenerbahce Beko hosted Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague 2024-25 season’s Week 32 game at Ulker Sports and Event Hall. With an 82-77 win, Fenerbahce secured its 22nd victory of the season and moved to the top of the EuroLeague standings.

This win guarantees Fenerbahce Beko a home-court advantage in the playoffs with two weeks remaining in the regular season.

Game highlights

Fenerbahce Beko started the game with Sertac Sanli, Nigel Hayes-Davis, Bonzie Colson, McCollum, and Marko Guduric on the court. The early stages saw both teams exchanging baskets, and Baskonia led 9-8 before the first timeout. After the break, Fenerbahce picked up momentum with points from Nigel Hayes-Davis and Baldwin, finishing the first quarter with a 19-13 lead.

In the second quarter, Dyshawn Pierre played a key role, helping Fenerbahce extend its lead to 31-17. Dominating the final minutes of the half, Fenerbahce went into the break leading 46-32.

Baskonia came out strongly in the third quarter, cutting the deficit to 59-49, with contributions from Tadas and Nikolaos. However, Fenerbahce managed to maintain control, ending the third quarter with a 72-59 lead.

Baskonia continued to push in the final quarter, narrowing the gap to just five points at 74-69. But Fenerbahce held its ground in the closing minutes and secured the win with an 82-77 victory.
