The Austrian head coach, Oliver Glasner, has been named the new manager of Crystal Palace, taking over from Roy Hodgson

Austrian head coach Oliver Glasner has been appointed as the new manager of Crystal Palace, succeeding Roy Hodgson, who stepped down Monday.

Glasner signed a deal that extends until the end of the 2025-26 season, expressing his excitement about joining the Premier League club.

The 49-year-old manager, who previously led German clubs Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt, achieved historic success by guiding Eintracht Frankfurt to victory in the 2021-22 UEFA Europa League.

In a statement, Glasner mentioned his eagerness to work with the talented squad at Crystal Palace and experience the environment at Selhurst Park.

The club, currently 16th in the English Premier League standings with 24 points, hopes Glasner’s leadership will bring positive changes after losing 10 of their last 16 league games.

The management thanked Roy Hodgson for his six-season, 200-game tenure as the first-team manager.
