Cristobal Del Solar breaks world record Golf Championship
Chilean golfer Cristobal Del Solar sets a new record at the Korn Ferry’s Astara Golf Championship.
Chilean golfer Cristobal Del Solar made history on Thursday by shooting a 13-under 57 in the Korn Ferry’s Astara Golf Championship, setting a new record for the lowest round in a PGA Tour sanctioned event.
The 30-year-old player, currently ranked 259th in the world, delivered a masterful performance at Bogota Country Club’s Pacos course, featuring two eagles and closing with a remarkable score despite ending his final three holes with pars.
Del Solar’s achievement is particularly significant as it breaks the previous Korn Ferry record of 58, held by Stephan Jager since the 2016 Ellie Mae Classic.
The Chilean golfer’s exceptional round puts him in an elite group of golfers who have shot a sub-60 round worldwide, a rare accomplishment in the history of professional golf.
The historic round began with Del Solar showcasing his skills on the course, delivering a stunning eight-under 27 on the outward nine.
